A Community Transformed: Supporting Local Heroes in Inns Court
What an inspiring time we had with the Inns Court Residents Group! We recently met with their incredible team of volunteers who are doing a fantastic job of turning a neglected, former fly-tipping hotspot into a beautiful, vibrant wild garden.
Led by Heather from Filwood Community Centre and Dave (Chair of the Residents Group), along with dedicated volunteers Wendy, Caroline, Josie, and Jenny, this group has been working tirelessly for over eight years to breathe new life into their community. Their passion for the environment is clear: they're committed to protecting local wildlife and enhancing the natural habitat through initiatives like tree planting and creating hedgehog homes.
Our Project Manager Chris Mann, along with Helen and Katie, recently joined the group in the sweltering heat to see how we could best support their amazing efforts. We even got our hands dirty, helping to plant new apple and blackcurrant trees!
At Bray & Slaughter, we are dedicated to supporting local initiatives, and we plan to continue our support for the Inns Court Residents Group throughout the duration of the Filwood Community Centre refurbishment. We will be looking for more opportunities to lend a hand, whether it's through volunteering, providing resources, or helping to connect them with other beneficial partnerships.
