Delivering Excellence in Healthcare

Over the summer, our team successfully completed and handed over the full refurbishment of Ward B12 Neurology at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. Delivered on time and within budget, the final handover was met with praise from the Client Project Manager for the exceptionally high quality of the finish throughout the modern, rejuvenated space.

"Thanks to all at Bray & Slaughter for your efforts on this scheme, the ward looks amazing and the clinical staff are very excited to move in. There has been lots of great feedback received"

Jake Williams | Client Project Manager | J4 Projects

Executing a major refurbishment within an active healthcare environment presented significant operational complexities. Maintaining the comfort, safety, and routine of both patients and clinical staff required strict site controls across every stage of the works. Noise tasks were scheduled strictly around key hospital routines, such as patient meal times, to avoid causing disruption or agitation to daily clinical activities.

Logistics and supply chain management were critical to the project's smooth execution. Leveraging long-standing supply chain relationships, all subcontractors were briefed from the outset on the sensitive nature of the site, supported by daily trade meetings to enforce ongoing environmental and dust controls. Furthermore, given the severe parking and vehicle constraints at the hospital, material deliveries were coordinated on a strict just-in-time basis and stored entirely within the existing building footprint to keep access routes clear for emergency vehicles, patients, and visitors.

Open communication underpinned the seamless delivery of the project. Our site management team maintained a proactive, transparent working relationship wit the Client Project Manager throughout every phase ensuring complete clarity from site set up to final completion.

We are proud to have delivered an upgraded, functional environment for the hospital team and look forward to continuing our work within the healthcare sector.
