About Us: At Bray & Slaughter, we are a regional main contractor committed to delivering high-quality construction projects across the South West & South Wales while leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities where we build. Guided by our core values of integrity, collaboration, and social responsibility, our culture prioritises people, local partnerships, and sustainable growth. We actively drive social value by investing in local supply chains, creating employment and training opportunities, and supporting community initiatives that make a genuine difference.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and outcomes-driven Social Value Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will lead the strategy, measurement, and delivery of our social value commitments across our projects, clients, and local communities.

Whether you are looking to balance this role with other commitments, returning to the workforce, or simply seeking a flexible part-time opportunity, we offer an environment that values impact over physical visibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Delivery: Develop, implement, and track targeted Social Value Delivery Plans for key contracts and projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with local community groups, charities, schools, and local authorities to create meaningful partnerships (e.g., work experience, apprenticeships, local supply chain spend).
  • Measurement & Reporting: Capture, calculate, and report on our Social Return on Investment (SROI) and National Themes, Outcomes, and Measures (TOMs) framework data.
  • Bid Support: Collaborate with bid and tender teams to draft compelling social value responses for prospective public and private sector contracts.
  • Internal Advocacy: Train and inspire colleagues across teams to embed social value principles into day-to-day operations.

About You

  • Experience: Proven track record in social value delivery, ESG, corporate social responsibility (CSR), or community development.
  • Framework Knowledge: Familiarity with social value frameworks (e.g., Social Value Portal / National TOMs) and relevant legislation (e.g., Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 / PPN 06/20).
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders from frontline community teams to executive leaders.
  • Data & Impact Driven: Comfortable analysing data, measuring impact metrics, and translating complex outcomes into clear, concise reports.
  • Self-Motivated: Able to prioritise high-value tasks effectively within a part-time role.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Compensation: Pro-rata salary based on £30,000-£33,000 (FTE) full-time equivalent.
  • True Flexibility: Core hours with flexible arrangements (i.e. hours can be spread over two or more days).
  • Benefits: Contributory pension, enhanced holiday allowance, car allowance
